Cebu Pacific launches piso seat sale, gets first aircraft delivery in 2025

MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific is ending its anniversary month with a seat sale, offering flights for as low as P1 for a one-way base fare.

This means, however, that fees and other surcharges will be added upon a traveler’s checkout.

The budget airline’s promo will be up until March 31. Meanwhile, the sale applies for flights booked from September 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.

Cebu Pacific started its operations in March 8, 1996 and it celebrated its 29th anniversary earlier this month with another seat sale, with base fares offered as low as P29. The airline started with low-cost domestic flights and started offering international routes in 2001.

It currently offers 37 domestic destinations — with new routes taking off from Clark, Pampanga, and Cebu. The Gokongwei-led airline also recently acquired boutique airline AirSWIFT, expanding its offerings by having flights to Lio Airport in El Nido from Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and Bohol.

Cebu Pacific also offers flights to 26 international destinations, including Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hanoi, Melbourne, Dubai, among others.

In 2024, the company saw a 17.6% increase in passengers as more flew with the airline’s local and international flights.

Cebu Pacific in 2024 bought 152 aircraft from Airbus and is expected to receive all orders by 2035. Aside from the landmark purchase, the company also has a backlog of 22 orders from previous transactions, which it expects to be delivered in the next two to three years.

On Friday, Cebu Pacific received its first aircraft delivery for 2025 — a 459-seater A330neo which arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. It can serve both regional and long-haul flights.

“The arrival of our latest A330neo strengthens our operational resilience, allowing us to serve more passengers while continuing to offer affordable and sustainable air travel,” Cebu Pacific president and commercial officer Xander Lao said in a statement on Friday.

“We look forward to bringing dream destinations closer to every Juan with this addition to our fleet,” he added.

It is the first among four A330neos expected to be delivered this year. Three other aircraft from Cebu Pacific’s order will also arrive.

Cebu Pacific currently has a fleet composed of 11 Airbus 330s, 38 Airbus 320s, 26 Airbus 321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft. – Rappler.com
