MANILA, Philippines – Who will be the next queen? The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has officially started the application process for the 61st edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
Announced on Wednesday, March 5, the organization invites aspiring beauty queens nationwide to represent the Philippines internationally.
“For 61 years, Binibining Pilipinas has crowned icons, empowered voices, and set the stage for greatness. Will you be the next Binibini to wear the crown?” they wrote on Facebook.
Interested applicants can download the official application forms from the Binibining Pilipinas website. Completed forms can be submitted via email to BPCI@aranetagroup.com or delivered in person to the BPCI Office located on the 8th Floor of Aurora Tower, Gen. Malvar St., Araneta City, Quezon City.
Applicants are advised to look for Mr. Gines Enriquez upon submission.
The deadline for submissions is March 21.
In the 2024 edition of Binibining Pilipinas, held on July 7, 2024, Myrna Esguerra of Abra was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2024, while Jasmin Bungay of Pampanga was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024. Bungay finished second runner-up during the Miss Globe 2024’s coronation night on October 16.
Binibining Pilipinas has produced many notable queens, such as Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015; Catriona Gray, Miss Universe 2018; Gloria Diaz, who is the first Filipina to win Miss Universe in 1969; and Margie Moran, who bagged the Miss Universe 1973 title.
Other pageant winners include Mutya Datul, the country’s first Miss Supranational winner in 2013; Ann Colis and Maureen Montagne, who were both crowned Miss Globe winners in 2015 and 2021, respectively; and Karen Gallman and Cinderella Faye Obeñita, the country’s two Miss Intercontinental winners, 2018 and 2021, respectively.
