MANILA, Philippines – The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) announced on Saturday, March 1, that “key services” of its mobile banking have been restored, following reports of inaccessibility on Friday, February 28.
“Access to select key services via the BPI app and BPI online has been restored. We are working on making other services available soon. Rest assured, we are committed to providing the full suite of enhanced digital services as soon as possible for your convenience,” the BPI said in a statement past noon on Saturday.
The bank did not specify which services remain unavailable.
Some users on social media have reported that they were still unable to access online bank transfers, and that the funds they attempted to transfer on Friday have not been successfully processed as of posting time.
Mobile banking and other services often face issues during payday due to the high volume of transactions. However, users are demanding better service from financial institutions. – Rappler.com
