MANILA, Philippines – SEVENTEEN member Wonwoo is set to begin his mandatory military service on April 3.
On Wednesday, March 5, PLEDIS Entertainment released a statement on WeVerse announcing that the K-pop star will not be able to attend any of SEVENTEEN’s engagements after his enlistment, including the upcoming Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025 festival and Japan fan meeting in April.
“As announced before, WONWOO will be participating in the ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND’ concert as scheduled from March 20 to 21 and will be appearing in various pre-recorded content,” PLEDIS added.
“There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment, and we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the site of his alternative military service. Please send your heartfelt messages of support for WONWOO through Weverse,” the agency wrote.
PLEDIS also asked for CARATS’ “continued love and support” for Wonwoo until his “safe and healthy return.”
Wonwoo’s enlistment marks another bittersweet moment for SEVENTEEN and CARATS — he will be joining Jeonghan, who enlisted in September 2024. Last March, it was announced that the group’s leader S.coups will be exempted from military service due to his knee surgery. The rapper underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery in August 2023. – Rappler.com
