IMUS CITY, Cavite — The UBE Express, in partnership with the city government of Imus and The District Imus, launched Cavite’s first premium point-to-point (P2P) bus service from Imus to all terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Monday, November 18, at The District Imus, Along Aguinaldo Highway, Barangay Anabu II-D here.
Cavite 3rd District Congressman Adrian Jay “AJ” Advincula, Imus City Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula, Lina Group of Companies Chairman Alberto Lina, UBE Express President Garrie David, and AyalaLand Malls, Inc. Transportation Terminal Senior Associate Manager Ivan Bautista led the ceremonial launching, marking a milestone for Cavite commuters and travelers.
Also present were Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Arnell Ignacio, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region IV-A Regional Director Loumer Bernabe, Imus City Vice Mayor Homer “Saki” T. Saquilayan, city councilors, and various Cavite officials.
According to OWWA’s Ignacio, the said P2P Buses will benefit overseas Filipino workers and the local tourists with the special rates offered.
“The said buses with route at Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 4 and District Mall here in Cavite with the first trip starting from NAIA at 3:30 in the morning, with 8 trips a day with an initial 8 units bus will run the said program,” Garrie David, UBE Express President said.
“Malaking bagay po ito sa mga commuters going to work sa NAIA at sa mga going to airport terminals para mag-travel abroad, napaka-convinient po, at makakabawas pa sa mga volume ng motorists sa area‘. Imus City Mayor Alex ‘AA’ Advincula said in an interview.
The 34-seater premium aircon bus will have special rate for OFWs of P150 and regular rate of P300 per way.
To commemorate the launch, the first 50 passengers enjoyed complimentary rides provided by the city government of Imus. Additionally, from November 19–24, 2024, passengers can continue to avail of free rides sponsored by Team AJAA. – Rappler.com
