MANILA, Philippines – The Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros, on Wednesday, October 23, holds a probe into alleged human rights abuses committed by doomsday preacher Apollo Quiboloy.
Quiboloy, who is currently detained at a facility inside Camp Crame, appears before the Senate for the first time.
Hontiveros’ committee is probing allegations of “large-scale human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse and violence, and child abuse” in Quiboloy’s religious group Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).
